About Us

Welcome to the Salford Gaming Society! Whether it's console, PC, handheld or board games, it doesn't matter! We're a friendly bunch of Salford students and alum who meet up regularly to let off some steam by playing games together.

What do we do?

Here at the Salford Gaming Society, we enjoy all manner of games. Some of our members enjoy video games on a range of platforms including PC, Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo consoles. We have members that enjoy playing card games and board games. Popular examples include Cards Against Humanity, Funemployed, Skull, Warewolf and many many more.

We hold a range of events both online and at regular meet ups. Usually there's a weekly event that can vary from a friendly get together with consoles and boardgames, to more extravagant events such as trips into Manchester and in infamous Nerf Wars. Online events are a great way to hang out when the meetings aren't on. A whole bunch of people jump on one of our VOIP servers and play along together. Popular options include Rocket League, Garry's Mod, GTA V but we're always open to suggestions!

Have a look at some of our past events, we always hope to keep things varied and interesting.

“ SGS is a great society with a lot of things to do both inside and outside of it. All the events are really fun like the tournaments and ice skating. ”

Ross Corby

“ It’s a place where people who like the same things can hang out. It's fun and relaxed but it's more than ‘just’ a gaming society. It's a place where I can chill and laugh with mates. ”

Liam Parkes Johnson

“ It's good, it's less of a society and more like a group of friends hanging out. It's a good excuse to get out of the house and I look forward to the Weekly events. ”
