I began writing inspirational poems for special events, occasions, and family but then things started to happen that led me to use poetry as an expression of what I was going through and feeling at certain times in my life. It allowed me to clear my mind. Like singing it became therapeutic. I started writing later in life than most, however, God’s timing is perfect. He knew what I needed even when I didn’t. He knew this would be my way of escape, my peace. And I thank Him for it. To God be the Glory!
Lisa Bradley was born and raised in South Carolina. She is the wife of 24 years to Mathis and together they have one daughter, Alisha. She graduated from Central Carolina Technical College and Morris College, and in December 2016, received a Masters Degree from Webster University in Educational Technology.
Lisa began writing while attending Morris when she was asked by one of her professors to put into words what she thought the Bible meant to her and she did so by writing a poem. Little did she know that the Lord was preparing her for the tests and trials she would face later in life. Writing became her outlet. Like singing, it became therapeutic. This was her way of escape, her peace.
She published her first book in April of 2016 with Pure Thoughts Publishing and she thanks God for the opportunity to share the gift He placed in her. She may have started writing later in life than most but Godâs timing is perfect.
Faithâ¦â¦â¦.Loveâ¦â¦â¦.Comfortâ¦â¦â¦.Expressions of the Heart has all of these things and so much more. This book has poems for every occasion and situation in life. It inspires, uplifts and encourages the heart and soul. But most of all, God is the center of every page. Everyone goes through trials but the real test is your attitude while youâre going through, and for Lisa, she went through âitâ writing. She was able to express herself through words and allowing God to control every step with every verse instead of trying to handle it and control the situations. Although, when she began writing, it was for other people but in the end, she began writing for herself. So God prepared her for what was to come and she thanks Him for it. He has a way that is mighty sweet!
